As trusted advisers to both government and private industry, we provide comprehensive planning and design advice for even the most demanding projects.

LEADING EXPERTISE

Our Planning team is led by Lynne Sheridan, Executive Director of Planning and Special Projects. Lynne is a highly recognised leader in the property development industry, with over 40 years of experience as a town planner and project director across local government, state government, and the private sector. Lynne has extensive experience in statutory and strategic planning and urban design across Metropolitan Sydney and Regional NSW.

A Legacy in NSW Planning Reform: Lynne has held numerous senior executive roles at the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure.  As the former Director of the Codes and Design Team, she was instrumental in developing State-wide and significant complying development reforms to accelerate housing delivery and improve housing diversity. Lynne is a Recognised expert in housing policy and delivery. She developed and implemented the Low Rise Housing Diversity Code and Design Guide, the Greenfield Housing Code, and the Inland Code. Notably, she received a Premier’s Award for her work on the Simplified House Code, which modernised NSW legislation by incorporating explanatory images for the first time in NSW, making it easier for homeowners to understand complying development rules.

Unparalleled Statutory and Strategic Planning Knowledge: In addition to her reform work, Lynne has led major urban design and masterplanning strategies, preparation of local environmental plans (LEPs) and development control plans (DCPs) and numerous heritage projects. Her expertise is further highlighted by her appointment as an Acting Commissioner for the NSW Land and Environment Court (2021–2023) and the assessment of a number of significant new high school and public school projects for the Department of Education (2024-2026). This rare combination of planning policy and legislation-making experience, Part 4 and Part 5 development assessment experience and judicial insight ensures Berrys Bay Studio provides clients with an unmatched understanding of NSW planning and environmental legislation.
